I have successfully connected to the SQL server and try to run a query using views but it doesn't return results.
Unlike when i'm running a query using tables, it successfully return results.
is it possible that splunk db connect doesnt support views?
Thanks in advance Guys!
Happy Splunking! 🙂
Some views executed return results. Most of it didn't.
But when executed in the SQL server management studio, it has results.
Is this some kind of permission issue? or splunk DB Connect issue?
I have no problems using views in DB Connect. This sound like it may be a permissions issue.
When you query the views using SSMS are you using the same credentials that are defined in the connection used by the DB Connect input?
For starters, Splunk DB Connect most certainly supports views. 🙂
What version of SQL, and you say only some views don't work in DBX, but all work in SSMS? Also how are you selecting out of them - using the table browser thingy to select the view (which IIRC you can just pick views off the table section) or are you writing SQL directly?
