Hi, new to DB Connect app, new to DB's as well.. on my distributed Dev environment, DB Connect 3.1.1 has been installed, around 5 DB Connections are configured and health is good. Docs are there only for release notes and deployment guide. After deployment, what's next?!

Please help me with few usual scenarios for DB Connect app use cases?
can I monitor DB tables(addition/deletion), tables size, etc

thanks and best regards,
Sekar

Hi @inventsarkar,

If you start with this documentation http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.1.1/DeployDBX/AboutSplunkDBConnect then you will able to get idea about how you can use DBConnect based on your requirement.

As of now I am using DB connect to fetch data from Database table at regular interval based on rising column so only new data which was ingested in table will be fetched and ingest into splunk index.

Another use case is you can ingest data from splunk indexes to Database table for that you need to use output data.

And 3rd option is lookup, reference your splunk query fields with database data but I never used this function so I don't have much more idea about this.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Harshil
