Splunk App for Salesforce: Does this app work with an on premise Splunk implementation?

Does the Splunk App for Salesforce work with an on premise Splunk implementation (standalone or on internal cloud)? Or does it only connect/work with Splunk Cloud? We were able to get this working with a Splunk Cloud (sandbox) implementation but are unable to connect successfully and pull data from our on premise Splunk servers. Perhaps there is a proxy setting that is needed? Thanks for you help!

should work the same way.The only difference is that if you have proxy in your onprem environment, you will need to disable it.
