I'm looking to either contribute an update or fork the Speedtest app from Splunkbase - does anyone know how to get in contact with the author??
Hi @rlarkman_splunk, I'd be keen to breath some new life into this app with you, how do I get in contact with you?
Im in the process of transfering my older apps over to this login at the moment.
Cheers!
@markhill1, message me on LinkedIn and we can have a chat: http://bit.ly/2SrAdRT
Probably @mrgibbon
Was there any progress on this? I would like to see it working... Doesnt work right now... Maybe even use speedtest.dslreports.com It is one of the ONLY speed tests that do multi threading and can properly rate multiple bonded 1gbps internet connections... Would love to track my servers actual network connection over time!
There is an update coming, we have been working on it. I cant promise it will have what you want in the next update. But it will def be coming.
update looks good guys, Is there a way for me to set a specific testing server, or at least a primary one? Speedtest.net always thinks im in NY for some reason, im in Chicago.. If not can you walk me through what to edit to set a specific testing server?
There is no way of currently doing that, feel free to give it a go, i'd be interested in seeing your approach.
i can hard edit the python scrip of sivel's (https://github.com/sivel/speedtest-cli) but i later found this wont help... speedtest.net doesnt support multi stream testing So im going to take the CLI output of speedtest.dslreports.com and use your dashboard to display its info... If you want to switch to speedtest.dslreports.com they have a nifty api that will let you do the same thing as you are doing with speedtest.net but show accurate results.
Here is a link to test the api: https://jsfiddle.net/nyc863/Lzm8sjqu/?utm_source=website&utm_medium=embed&utm_campaign=Lzm8sjqu
Here is their api info: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/api-available
Very interesting! Might give it a go....
I’ll PayPal you $50 upon completion 😄
Look into the upload/download streams setting. It should be 32 for both.
Well, I didn't hear much from you so I just modified your dashboard to work with my data using speedtest.dslreports.com!
