Is there a maximum number of apps/technical addons which you can install in Splunk?

To my knowledge, theoretically no. But this depends on your hardware. If you had 1000 apps on a tiny SHC, you'd be replicating large bundles across the cluster

No, there is not any limit to install apps/addon in Splunk as long as it is not creating performance issues to your Splunk environment. Some of the add-ons/apps like Splunk ES, ITSI,etc require separate Splunk instance. So it really depends on your requirement but general apps/addon which doesn't require much space or dependencies should work.
