Is it mandatory to install Splunk Add-on for Windows on a universal forwarder?
I am going to install universal forwarders into Windows using BMC Bladelogic.
Is there any bare minimum data input flags that needs to be enabled?

It is not mandatory. Which add-ons you'll want to install depend on what types of logs you're looking to collect
