How to remotely referencing Dashboard Example .css and .js files

I do not have server access to copy the javascript and css files from the Dashboard Examples to ".../myapp/appserver/static" in order to reference them in the first line of a dashboard's source file like this: . A couple of years ago I found online Splunk documentation that allowed a user to reference those files in the dashboard script line, but I can not find that documentation now. Is anyone familiar with what that syntax might?
