How to Select rows of a table using checkboxes ?

Contributor

I have a requirement to display a lookup table which looks like below:

hostname user index status Select
abc.xy.com user1 idx1 Y √
abc.xy.com user2 idx2 Y √
abc.xy.com user3 idx3 Y √
abd.xy.com user1 idx1 Y √

Basically the last column needs to be a checkbox. Suppose the first row is selected. I need a search query that updates the lookuptable and the output should look like below:

hostname user index status Select
abc.xy.com user1 idx1 N

abc.xy.com user2 idx2 Y √
abc.xy.com user3 idx3 Y √
abd.xy.com user1 idx1 Y √

I need help in creating a dashboard ( form) with such display. Anyone has done this implementation. please share.

This is going to need both js and css to to work.

See the answer here: https://answers.splunk.com/answers/587089/multiselect-table-rows.html

You'll really want to create an app specifically for this dashboard/collection of dashboards so you don't mess with the static css/js for the search app.

This is typically done with a dropdown and multi-select.

actually we did that using dropdowns .. somehow the usecase seemed to be more user friendly when we display the content of the entire row and select the rows that are required.

Thanks

I suspect you will have to go javascript and build everything.
