How do I connect JMX monitoring to Tomcat

I have installed the jmx_ta on a 6.2 forwarder and getting the following error

12-04-2014 16:08:02.884 +0000 ERROR ModularInputs - Introspecting scheme=jmx: script running failed (exited with code 1).

Any idea which area this could be a problem with?

Needed Python 2.7, but did not want to install it on the OS so used this to use the forwarder to have python installed local

You can configure your JMX inputs via Manager->DataInputs->JMX

When installing on a UF there is no UI. You need to edit inputs.conf directly.

Guessing a bit here , but do you have Python 2.7 installed on the Forwarder also ? Universal Forwarders depend on a system Python being present.

We have python 2.6.6 but will up this to 2.7
