How can I modify Splunk/Jira app in Splunk to accept Jira's SSL Certificate?

Recently our Splunk/Jira integration stopped working. Previously we could create tasks in Jira based on Splunk alerts. We now get the following error running the same alert.

Error sending message: [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:603)

I was told this has to do with Splunk not accepting Jira's new SSL Certificate. How can I modify Splunk to accept or ignore this certification?

I am using the Splunk add-on for Atlassian Jira: https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2888/

Thanks!

Adding verify=False solved it for me.

Just be careful "False" has an uppercase "F" otherwise it will throw an error.

Did you ever resolve this issue?
Thank you

A possible solution from a reliable source: "it appears to be an issue with SSL cert validation on the JIRA side- probably a self-signed certificate there. The expedient solution would probably be to add verify=False to the requests.post call on line 34 of jira.py.”
