Does Eventgen work with Splunk 6.3.1? I can't get it to work.

I followed along with the tutorial at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S-ZeGEfRKg&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 and I cannot get Eventgen to work on Splunk 6.3.1. Should it?
