Do any versions or will future releases of the Splunk App for VMware provide support on Windows?

Splunk App for VMware documentation indicates that the Splunk search head must be on 64-bit Linux OS. We have our Splunk production environment on Windows 2012 R2 servers.

1) Are there any prior versions of Splunk App for VMware that support Windows?

2) Will future releases of Splunk App for VMware provide Windows support?

Splunk App for VMware must run on Linux due to some Windows/Splunk related issues that don't happen on Linux/Splunk. Can't speak for the future product - since that would depend on the Windows/Splunk related issues being fixed first.
