We have quite a few ESXi hosts that cannot be tied to a vCenter due to specific business requirements. Can we collect data from these hosts with Splunk VMWare App ? I know syslog from these hosts is a possibility, but we're looking for something similar to how vCenter's are able to collect data.
It looks like this was possible back in 2013 ? I do not see any recent references that says it is still possible.
