Can I export data from Splunk to Kafka topic with the Splunk Add-on for Kafka?

Hi Guys,

I'm new here. I just want to confirm if I can use this Splunk Add-on for Kafka to export data from Splunk to Kafka topic?
After some research, my guess the answer is No. If this is the case, I can only write a kafka producer at Heavy Forwarder, then send message to Kafka broker, right?

You are correct. The Add-on for Kafka is to import messages out of Kafka and into Splunk. Splunk wont be able to send into the Kafka Broker directly, as you say, you would need to orchestrate this yourself with a producer.
