Hey @gcusello @inventsekar  @PickleRick

++ @Dhivakarpn  adding Environment information.

Indexer version 9.x

This in amazon Linux 2023

https://github.com/amazonlinux/amazon-linux-2023

Kernel version 6.1.

A per our understanding,  UF 9.0.1 can support up to kernel 5.x. This Amazon Linux  3 running with 6.1 kernel version. We would like to know does this configuration supported ? or any issues reported with latest kernel?

There is a difference between "is supported" and "will work on". 9.0.1 was released before (or roughly at the same time) as 6.0 kernel so it's not on an officially supported list. It doesn't matter thought that it won't work. It's a userland program so it should be relatively independent on the kernel version.

Hi @Dhivakarpn ... as said in previous reply... most linux's should be ok to install UF (unless the linux older than 10 years)..

one another concern is... whats ur indexer version..

You should make sure UF to indexer is compatible.

Hi @inventsekar

Thanks for the details. @Dhivakarpn  and  I  are working together.

OK. Even with version 7.x of the receivers (indexers/HFs), the 9.0 UF should be relatively OK.

Just remember that 9.0 UF introduced the configtracker mechanism which produces events for the _configtracker index which is normally not available in older splunk installations so you'll end up with events either discarded (with a warning) or sent to a last-chance index.

Hi @Dhivakarpn ,

I don't know exactly AWS Linux 3 but Spluk UF is compatible with every Linux kernel from 3.x, so it should be compatible (Amazon Linux 3 shoud use a combination of Fedora Linux and CentOS Stream).

Ciao.
