Opentelemetry with Splunk

Hello,  I'm looking for any help/documentation regarding instrumenting applicating with Opentelemetry and sending data into Splunk. Unfortunately, I can't find any detailed "get started" or "how-to" guide to test this. I'll be very thankful if somebody can provide a "step-by-step" instruction(or something similar) for better understanding.

@inventsekar  thank you very much for your help. I've already seen some of them, but unfortunately, even after reading these docs, it is not clear how to run and see traces in Splunk. Some good examples of usage are here, but they are not related to Splunk: https://opentelemetry-python.readthedocs.io/en/stable/getting-started.html

I believe that in the future there will be some good instructions on Splunk, how to proceed with Opentelemetry.

Hi @Vitaliy ..

https://www.splunk.com/en_us/blog/conf-splunklive/announcing-native-opentelemetry-support-in-splunk-...

https://github.com/signalfx/splunk-otel-collector

https://docs.signalfx.com/en/latest/apm/apm-getting-started/apm-deployment-guide.html

check the above link..

I am not sure of the opentelemetry, .. in simple splunk admin view, you have to code and collect the logs at a central directory, then using Splunk UF (or Splunk HEC seems to be a better solution), you can ingest the logs to splunk.

thanks and best regards,
Sekar
