Can we stop using a Licensed Heavy Forwarder and reuse the same license on setting up another Heavy Forwarder ?

Hi @ssplunkadmin,

what do you mean with "Licensed Heavy Forwarder"?

Heavy Forwarder hasn't a license.

If you mean that you have a licensed server that you want to use as HF, you can move the license into the License Master and use it with the other licenses.

Ciao.

It's common practice to install a 0 GB license on heavy forwarders used with Splunk Cloud.  It avoids the restrictions associated with unlicensed servers.

I don't see why not, but you may want to contact the person who sent you the license to make sure.
