Hello,

We are running the *NIX Version 4.6 app and it doesnt appear to be returning the correct data. Is AIX supported or is there something we are missing?

There is basic support for AIX in many of the scripted inputs. Can you be more specific about what your problem is?

  • What is the specific AIX platform?
  • What is your Splunk version?
  • What specific data is not being returned as you expect?

If you run the following commands, what is the output:

iostat 1 2
eval uptime ; ps -e | wc -l ; ps -em | wc -l ; /usr/sbin/swap -s ; vmstat 1 1 ; vmstat -s ; svmon

If you don't want to paste the output, please feel free to email me at my user name at splunk.com.

Hello,

We are on AIX 6.1 on Power 7 series and our Splunk version is 5.0.2.

The main scripts that we are concerned about are ps, cpu, vmstat, and iostat. PS works fine and cpu needs elevated permissions to execute sar, but vmstat and iostat do not return any metrics.
