Splunk Add-on double-byte characters (Unicode) support

I am considering implementing the following Add-on

Splunk Add-on for Symantec Endpoint Protection
https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2772/#/details

If Symantec Endpoint Protection's syslog output is in double-byte characters (Unicode) such as Japanese, does this add-on support it?

The version of Splunk is ver.8.
