Hello Folks:

Can splunk forwarder (Universal/Heavyweight) send data to Kafka Topic?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rohit

Alternatively, can I use Heavy Forwarder to line-break the data and send it to a TCP port; from there I can write a custom Kafka producer to get the data into Kafka topic?

Is that possible?

Thanks,
Rohit

Sure you can.

You'd have to write your own TCP server to receive the data and push to Kafka. Pretty simple code.

No it can't.

You would have to write your own integration , perhaps using one of our SDK's , to export the data from Splunk and then send to a Kafka topic.
