Please let me know the timeline for the app to support Windows 2012 DCs. (We are still running in AD 2008 compatibility mode)
Hi,
There are no known issues with regard to the Splunk App for AD and using Windows Server 2012. Are you seeing an issue with the app with 2012 DCs in your environment? The app does not prevent you from using a newer forest or domain mode.
There's a known issue with one of the addons with Windows 2012 "R2" which hopefully will be fixed soon, but that's specific to 2012R2 DCs.
The workaround doesn't send in the replication traffic, so those dashboards and panels that use that data won't have any data to display.
Thank you - what is the risk associated with deploying with this workaround in place?
But, if you need to run the TA with "most" functionality, a workaround is to disable the ad-repl-stats.ps1 script, which disables getting the replication traffic. Not ideal, but a potential workaround without killing your DC.
No problem. We don't have a target date since the fix is inside the TA-DomainController addon that gets shipped with the AD app itself. We hope to ship the update first half of this year in some form.
Thank you for your quick response. We are actually running Windows 2012 R2. Is there a target date for the release of the new version of the app?
