There is no Splunk solution for UF upgrade managment, however it may be added into Splunk in future. There is a script below that you can adapt and use, but it comes with no support. Hi, I am planning to migrate Splunk enterprises version 7 to 8, is it mandatory to take index backup ? after the upgrade, Splunk do we need to restore index backup is mandatory ?
