I was having this issue going from 9.0.4.1 to 9.1.0.1 and had to go to PowerShell and run msiexec.exe /f splunk-9.0.4.1 this repaired whatever was wrong with the current install to allow me to run msiexec.exe /i splunk-9.1.0.1 Hope this helps.

Was there a fix for this? I have the same warnings after upgrading from 8.2.9 to 9.0.4.1.

Does this app need a license for ITSI? On splunkbase, it's not that clear and deprecated apps points to this as the new solution.
