Once I can make SPL , what should I study next?

Because I do it myself, Splunk's recommended skill track
(for example: https://www.splunk.com/en_us/training/learning-path/courses-for-users.html)
is difficult because financial reason.

if you could tell me what materials and sites you recommend, and if you have any experience.

@to4kawa let me mention some of the resource I used besides premium Splunk Learning track:

  1. Splunk Docs: I also started with SPL knowledge first and Splunk Docs was my first friend.
  2. Splunk Dev: Splunk Dev site with walkthrough and examples
  3. Splunk Dashboard Examples app: Allowed me to adjust my HTML, CSS and JS skills as per Splunk Web Framework and Splunk JS Stack,.
  4. Splunk Blogs : Repositories of new features and technical walkthroughs. Find and read as per your needs. It has several gems, like one of my favorite Splunk Validated Architecture 🙂
  5. Splunk Conf sessions: Recording of previous .Conf sessions with sessions targeted for Beginner, Intermediate and Expert Splunkers.
  6. Amazing Splunk Community: As you might already be aware, Splunk Community is a great place to learn and grow like Splunk Answers, Slack Chat Splunk User Group, Splunk User Group around your local area. I specially like the Splunk Answers and Slack User Group because they give me opportunity to implement my knowledge and explore new use cases without the limitation of geography and timezone. Also I would recommend you to look at Splunk Trust as to how to become a Trust Member and one of benefits of joining Splunk Trust is that you get free Splunk Education Credits.
  7. Splunk How To Youtube channel: Quick bites, tips and tricks on Splunk How To Youtube channel. You can also request your own.
  8. Splunk Dev For All app on Splunkbase which has several Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced examples.
  9. Splunk Education has several free course which you can go through. If you are working for Splunk Partner company then depending on the agreement the some additional courses will be free or at reduced price.
  10. Splunk Partner Portal and resources. If you are Splunk Partner with access to Partner Portal login you can access several Partner/PS related learning resources.

Thank you @niketnilay
The list is very easy to understand.

I don't know anything other than SPL, so what is JQuery? JS?...
I need more knowledge than Splunk

I think about it.

If you choose App development path, the Web Development Framework in Splunk will allow you to extend built in dashboard framework features by allowing you to code through Simple XML CSS extension (style) and JavaScript Extension (mainly behavior but can do style also). jQuery is a JavaScript library which is easy to code and understand.

However, you may not ignore this if App Development is not your path. Moreover with the new Dashboard Framework Simple XML gets changed with JSON and uses another JS library reactUI at the backend. So it is better to start learning those. You can check out .Conf sessions from 2018 and 2019 around Splunk Developer Cloud and Splunk Dashboard beta. There are several blogs that have been posted recently as well.

Hi @to4kawa,
The first thing is obviously SPL but it seems to me that you are quite clever on this issue!

At this point you should begin to broaden your horizon either towards the architectural aspects or towards the Apps according to your interests and / or work needs.

As for the architectural aspects there is a free course on this and then you can start looking at:

  • the different ways of ingesting data (scripted inputs, TA, etc ...),
  • the use of the Deployment Server for the deployment of the App
  • and finally clusters (Indexer and Search Head).

As for the Apps, start with those that could help you in your working environment:

  • Windows Infrastructure,
  • nix,
  • Cisco Security Suite,
  • etc ...

and then move on to the Premium Apps:

  • Enterprise Security,
  • ITSI,
  • UBA,
  • etc...

As a tool, I suggest you look in the Partner Portal, in the training section, because there are many interesting courses: even if they are a bit old they can be useful to you.
But more than a tool or a course, you should choose arguments to elaborate on and then find on docs.splunk.com the procedure to follow and try it on a lab that you can create by yourself based on your working needs and intereststhat, for me, should always be the guideline.

Ciao.

Thank you @gcusello
Maybe I need to make sure what I want to do.
There were too many courses and could not find a way.
I think about it.
