Here are some of the questions we received during the Live Q&A.

Q: Are the add-ons consolidated as well, or only the apps/dashboards?

A: Only the apps and dashboards, but the existing add-ons you're using will populate ITE Work if they're currently populating your legacy Splunk apps.

Q: Will the stand-alone apps & ITE Work co-exist during transition?

A: We recommend uninstalling the stand-alone apps prior to configuring ITE Work as the Knowledge Objects are looking for the same data source.

Q: Can one have both ITSI and IT Essentials Work? Would the indicators in both match?

A: IT Essentials Work 4.9 and ITSI 4.9 are the same underlying application with additional premium capabilities for ITSI enabled if you have purchased a license therefore you would only install one or the other.  All IT Essentials Work capabilities and use cases are included in ITSI 4.9.

Q: I am currently using Splunk App for Windows Infrastructure. You guys will terminate it. Will This is new is FREE or I need to pay for it ?

A: This is a free app available on Splunkbase

Q: Are the drill down dashboards customizable?

A: They are

Q: Do I need to purchase ITSI in order to have this app ?

A: No, it is free on Splunkbase. Available for cloud customers now, and on prem at the end of the month (April 2021)

Q: Will the legacy apps be uninstalled from our cloud deployment?

A: Not until you are ready. Please contact your account team to make sure we have a successful transition plan in place.

Q: Is this app available for Splunk enterprise or just for cloud?

A: Enterprise as well starting 30 April 2021

Q: Does the new consolidated app utilize the existing named indexes and sourcetypes or will we have to make changes for the new app?

A: It does use the existing indexes and sourcetypes

Q: Is WIndows AD monitoring also included in this?

A: It will be soon.  See the official docs for what is currently included in IT Essentials Work.

Q: question if I can, when will the app be loaded to cloud?

A: ITE Work is available in the cloud today. Contact your account team and they will help you put a solid transition plan in place
