is the sum going to be in bytes like the description or mb?

It depends on what your data source is and how it defines bytes, but in this case, I would think bytes is bytes, and not mb. You would have to use the normal calculation to get mb (ie; round( bytes_in / 1024, 2)

will be in bytes. If you want in MB you need to divide it by (1024 * 1024)
