Unable to access splunk web - license warnings - trial version

Hi,

I just installed a trial version of splunk and I am unable to access web. I see the following messages :

01-20-2020 18:32:42.783 +0000 INFO LMStackMgr - license_warnings_update_interval=auto has reached the minimum threshold 10. Will not reduce license_warnings_update_interval beyond this value

-20-2020 14:45:42.179 +0000 INFO UiHttpListener - Limiting UI HTTP server to 1365 sockets

01-20-2020 14:45:42.195 +0000 INFO ProxyConfig - Failed to initialize http_proxy from server.conf for splunkd. Please make sure that the http_proxy property is set as http_proxy=http://host:port in case HTTP proxying needs to be enabled.
01-20-2020 14:45:42.195 +0000 INFO ProxyConfig - Failed to initialize https_proxy from server.conf for splunkd. Please make sure that the https_proxy property is set as https_proxy=http://host:port in case HTTP proxying needs to be enabled.
01-20-2020 14:45:42.195 +0000 INFO ProxyConfig - Failed to initialize the proxy_rules setting from server.conf for splunkd. Please provide a valid set of proxy_rules in case HTTP proxying needs to be enabled.
01-20-2020 14:45:42.195 +0000 INFO ProxyConfig - Failed to initialize the no_proxy setting from server.conf for splunkd. Please provide a valid set of no_proxy rules in case HTTP proxying needs to be enabled.

Please help... I am new to Splunk

Got it working...

It was the firewalld on the server that had to be configured...

sudo firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=8000/tcp --permanent
sudo firewall-cmd --reload

None of those messages are license warnings. All are INFO and can be ignored (unless you expect to connect via proxy).

Please explain what exactly you are trying to do, how exactly you are trying to do it, and the exact error message(s) you get in response.

i installed splunk enterprise and I am trying to access the splunk web. I cant access splunk web.

Please note, I have not changed any config file... I am not even sure why is it complaining of Failed to initialize http_proxy when I have not even configured it

I am unable to access :

http://SPLUNKSRV001.test.lab.com:8000/

SPLUNKSRV001 is where I have installed splunk and when I start splunk it says

Splunk looks for a proxy as part of its startup process. The INFO messages reported as part of that process can be ignored.

Have you tried http://127.0.0.1:8000?
