Hello

I have a need to change the index name of one of our indexes. Is the preferred method of doing so still as instructed here:
https://answers.splunk.com/answers/28134/rename-an-index-in-4-1-8.html

or is this better:
https://answers.splunk.com/answers/80077/index-change.html?utm_source=typeahead&utm_medium=newquesti...

just trying to clarify the best practice

Thanks for the update.

The method stated in below link is the way to go, if you can have some maintenance window in your environment where some indexers can be stopped for some time..

Ok, thanks for responding. I had a feeling that may still be the way to go but wanted to doublecheck first.
