no dbx folder in C:\Program Files\Splunk\etc\apps

I have Splunk Light installed on a Windows 10 x64 box and am trying to create a custom database connection. These instructions http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.0.8/DeployDBX/DefineanewDB say to copy the jar file for my database into the dbx/bin/lib folder however, on my box the dbx folder doesn't exist, nor do any of the subfolders or the database_types.conf file. Am I missing something obvious here or do i need to create these folders manually? Or is this feature not available in Splunk Light?

Hi yschiff,

If you look at this list http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SplunkLight/latest/GettingStarted/AboutSplunkLight#Key_differen... you will see that Apps are not supported in Splunk Light and therefore you cannot install/use the DB connect App in Splunk Light.

Hope this answers your questions ...

cheers, MuS
