WhatsApp has an API, however it is a premium function called "WhatsApp Business API" that requires purchase for access.  This is probably why there isn't an App out there for it currently.  Things like Telegram or GroupMe have free Bot APIs that allow free development.

WhatsApp accounts are associated with a phone subscription / number. If there was a way (for splunk) to spoof a phone number and an internet address you could send messages to, WhatsApp will most likely keep that hidden and/or secure to protect their users from receiving loads of spam.

Hi @sphiwee , SMS alerting is not natively available on Splunk by default. you can use this below app or Slack app ( https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2878/ ) 

You would probably need to use something like the Twilio SMS Alerting app on Splunkbase to add SMS alert trigger actions to your Splunk instance. https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/2865. SMS alerting isn't included with Splunk Enterprise by default.
