Need download link for Legacy Splunk Universal Forwarder Compatible With Windows 7 x64

Hi everyone,

I’m building a small test lab that intentionally includes a Windows 7 SP1 (x64) endpoint.
So I really need a forwarder that works with windows 7.

The current Previous Releases Universal Forwarder page lists 9.x compatible with windows 10, 11. 

I know windows 7 is ancient at this point but it would really help me if there's an official archive, mirror, or authenticated link where I can still pull that legacy MSI?

Any pointer or working link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @ReiGjuzi,

The last version with support for Windows 7 was 6.4.11. The 32-bit and 64-bit links still work; however, the forwarder is no longer supported, the forwarder may contain vulnerabilities, and the forwarder may not communicate with supported versions of Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud.

Contact Splunk Support.  They may have a link to a version that works for you.

Finding a legacy Splunk Universal Forwarder MSI for Windows 7 SP1 (x64) is tricky since Microsoft and Splunk no longer support Windows 7, and official download pages prioritize newer versions for supported OSes like Windows 10 and 11.

If you can’t find the MSI on Splunk’s official site, avoid unofficial mirrors due to security risks.
