Has anyone ever mounted a RHEL partition that points to S3, and set indexes to that partition?

I heard that RHEL 7 can have mount points that point to S3...has anyone tried setting that up and placing index buckets on that partition?  Wondering if it's possible or not.

Can you get 800+ IOPS from S3? If not, don't bother.

As @richgalloway said this isn't something what you want to do. If you want use S3 then look Splunk SmartStore: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.0.5/Knowledge/definecalcfields
