Can we migrate the configurations from DB Connect 3.2.0 to 4.1.1?

We’re planning to upgrade DB Connect from 3.2.0 and want to confirm if existing configurations (identities, connections, inputs, etc.) can be migrated between the old and new installations on two different servers.

On Splunkbase I see:

3.18.5 — Release date: October 21, 2025

4.1.1 — Release date: October 13, 2025

Which version should we be upgrading to given we’re currently at 3.2.0? Anyone who’s done this migration — did the configs carry over cleanly or did you need to reconfigure things manually?

Splunk recommended upgrade path is
3.x.x -> 3.18 ->4.x

#https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/latest/DeployDBX/MigratefromDBConnectv1

So i recommend to take a backup of your existing dbconnect app and upgrade to 3.18 and verify all your identities and connections are working as expected and then plan for upgrade to 4.x

Note: I tested an upgrade straight from an older 3.x release to 4.1, and my config were lost.
