Is the Free trial just for Enterprise or also for Cloud?

I am a student and I want to use Splunk for education purposes. I believe that 14 days of trial (in case of Cloud) or 60 days of trial (in case of Enterprise) not enough for me, so I'd like to use Free license, mentioned here. 

So, the question: is Splunk Free license available only for Enterprise version?
Or it can be used with Splunk Cloud too?

The Free license is only available to Enterprise users.

Hi

You must remember that Splunk Free hasn't all those capabilities what Splunk Enterprise have! When you are wanting to learn splunk for longer time you have two options: Use trial for 60days and then remove and reinstall it as this reset the license. Or even better to get Splunk Dev license from https://dev.splunk.com/enterprise/dev_license/ That is valid for 6 months. It's just for  develop your own Splunk Apps and skills. Not for any production use!

I'm interested in long-term learning, that's true. Thank you for a hint with a Dev license, I will check it. 
Also I'm curious now - has Free License enough functionality to prepare to certification exams or not? Of no, I definitely will apply for a Dev license.

Free license hasn't all those features which you want try for exams. Best to select trial or dev license.
