Hello Manish,

Thanks for posting to the AppDynamics Community.

AppDynamics does not have a predefined metric to count the number of files contained in a directory, but fortunately there is a custom extension available on the AppDynamics Exchange that can do that:

https://www.appdynamics.com/community/exchange/extension/filewatcher-monitoring-extension/

Or if that extension does not accomplish what you are seeking, it is also possible to write a shell or batch script and build a custom extension yourself. For more information on custom metrics and monitoring extensions, please refer to the following documents:

https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO45/Extensions+and+Custom+Metrics
https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO45/Build+a+Monitoring+Extension+Using+Scripts

Please let me know if this helps or if I have misunderstood your question.

Best regards,

Jonathan
