encryption data in transit and stored

Hi i'm new

When the information is in transit, for example from a forwarder to the indexer, do you have any type of encryption?

Another question is when the information is stored in the indexer, how is it stored? with or without encryption?

thanks, sorry if my questions are stupid

Hi @splunkcol,

you can find the answers to your questions about splunk securing at https://www.splunk.com/en_us/legal/splunk-data-security-and-privacy.html

Anyway, it's possible to use SSL in communication between Forwarders and Indexers.

About stored data, Splunk software provides secure data handling, access controls, auditability, assurance of data integrity and integration with enterprise single sign-on solutions.

Ciao.

Giuseppe
