Hi Everyone,

I have Splunk started and running on an Ubuntu machine. I know this for sure, yet whenever I try to load Splunk Web by going to the hostname:8000, it loads forever and then ultimately can't find the page. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I have it running on Oracle 6 Linux and Splunk Web loads up very quickly, but not on UBuntu for some reason.. I followed the same procedure and know that it is running

Try opening a port in the system firewall

sudo ufw allow 8000/tcp

or disable it altogether if your security policy allows:

sudo ufw disable
