I have logs in text file formats which is updating constantly from different sources. I asked Splunk to monitor the files.
The third column of the text file shows the hostname of the devices which is always in the third column. My understanding was Splunk will understand the hostname very easily.
What is the best way to specify the host value in Splunk so that Splunk shows the host value when reporting?
