Query for duration of kv pairs

I am trying to create a query to see how long it takes for my kv pairs to be returned. I have the kv pairs set up in java. Basically i need to know if the duration of time it takes is longer than xx milliseconds and then count both those taking longer and shorter. How would i go about a query like that?

Please describe the use case in more detail.  Where are the kv pairs returning from?  What time duration is being measured?  Some sample events would be helpful.
