We upgraded to splunk 6.5.0 after the .conf last week. Some of my users can no longer open previously working reports on their phones.
The reports generate as pdfs and can be viewed through web versions of the email client (gmail) but cannot be viewed in the built-in mail app for iPhone. There's an icon on the main inbox to indicate that the attachment is there but it can't be seen / opened once the email is opened up.
Any thoughts? This is a big problem for my users and I might need to roll back a version or two if we can't figure out how to fix it.
Please note that the following bug has been raised for this matter:
SPL-129870 - PDF and CSV attachments don't show up when viewing email on iPhone's default mail application
Both PDF and CSV files are effected. It has been determine for HTML emails in 6.5, the _subtype of MIMEMultipart was changed from "mixed" to "related" which is not working for iPhone's default mail application.
The bug is planned to be fixed in Splunk version 6.5.1.
Change it from HTML to plain text and it works fine
Any difference between IOS versions? Have you tested on Android. May not help you directly, but could help us narrow down the issue.
Hi - we are experiencing this issue as well. It works on Android, IOS Outlook app and via webmail and outlook PC client. It just doesn't work on the IOS Mail app. The attachment is shown in the messages view, just not when you go into the email itself.
Any update from Splunk?
Since the 6.5 update?
I have one person with iOS 9.3 with no issue, one with 9.2 that is having issues. No issues so far in android that I know of.
I'm waiting on input from more users and my splunk rep said to file a support ticket.
We have IOS 10.0.2 and have the issue widespread
