Monitoring of Database & JVM on Splunk Cloud

Hi all,

We are looking for possibilities of Monitoring DB and JVM on Splunk Cloud as we have the following issues:

• DB Connect APP – Data security compliance issue, ruled-out
• JMX APP – this APP supports Java version 8 & above. But, we need to enable monitors for Java version 6 & 7 

If you have any documentation or any thing on other ways of Monitoring please provide the same

Depends on what you mean by "monitoring" DB. Because for me, monitoring a database is collecting logs about its performance, security events, maybe user queries. But the DB connect app connects to the database as a client and can read (or write in some cases) data directly from a database, so it is something else.

What do you mean by security compliance issues? Are you sure there are no workarounds?

Also I haven't worked with java servers for quite some time now but I think jmx was present in j2se 1.6
