Installation

What to download for installation of deployment server?

pfabrizi
Path Finder

I need to install my deployment server \License server that will be part of our Splunk Enterprise deployment. I didn't install our POC environment, so I am not sure what download I need for this. I think I need to have the 'SPLUNK' ID created as well?

Thanks!

Yes you need make a login to splunk.com and then just download Splunk using the Free Splunk green button on the web site.
You likely will have to talk to your sales rep to get your license file if you don't already have it. But since you have an answers login you have the login part covered. You should tell your sale rep your login name so they can tie it to your support entitlement as well.

To add to starcher's response: All Splunk runtime roles - with the exception of the universal forwarder - are using the same binary download. What role an install plays is simply decided by configuration.
