After finding some weeeird things (read: unable to reproduce) in my brand new Splunk install today, I wonder if they're either bugs or a problem with my downloaded file.
A list of hashes for the current Splunk downloads, posted somewhere on the website, would be helpful to validate nothing has happened to a downloaded Splunk install package.
(If such a list already exists, where is it? It's not obvious on the downloads page.)
You can now get an MD5 for the file after you click on the filename to download. On the page you arrive at, there are a few links under the "Your download is starting..." and one of them is an MD5 file.

I see it for the Windows 64 bit distro but the listed md5 does not match the .msi calculated md5
The download page is now showing MD5 sums for the Linux builds of 4.1.6, but not for Windows it seems.
Nice - good to see.
