Is it possible to use Splunk DB Connect with Splunk Free?

Hey,

I have the Free Version of Splunk on my PC and installed the DB Connect APP.

I followed all steps of installation and configuration in Splunk Documentation.
I have a connection to an Microsoft SQL Database and can read the tables.
Adding Database-Inputs doesn´t work, whatever I do.

Is it possible to use the DB Connect App with Splunk Free?
