Does the linux rpm file work with both Centos and redhat?

Splunk only has an option for linux to download a rpm, deb, or tgz file for enterprise trial. If I download the rpm file will that work on a centos and redhat system?

I can confirm compatibility with RHEL and Centos as well. It also works with Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL).

In my experience, it does.  Just be aware the RH and CentOS no longer are parallel projects so YMMV.

Hi @klim,

I confirm the position of @richgalloway: I used rpm both with Centos and Red Hat.

Ciao.

Also we have used it with both of those and it also works with Amazon linux 2 version and probably with most RH based linuxes?
