How can i see the status of the files that are being monitored?

Amrit Bath (Splunk Software Engineer) did a great blog post and has a python script you can download and install. It allows you to have a CLI screen that shows the status of a local or remote splunk and the progress the file monitor is making.

Its very sweet, his directions are perfect. +1 for Amrit
