I am installing the trial version of Splunk Enterprise on Windows 10 pro 64bit. When I use a domain account the installation fails. But when I use a local account the installation succeeds.
Do the trial versions of Splunk Enterprise and Universal Forwarder support domain accounts?
Hello @magicbytes,
the installation can fail if the domain user don't have required permissions.
Check the %TEMP%\MSI*.log (usually c:\Windows\Temp\MSI*.log or c:\Users_username_\AppData\Local\Temp\MSI*.log) direct after the failed installation. If unsure, post the log here.

I am beginning to think that the trial versions do not support domain accounts. I have followed every procedure to assign permissions to the domain account per Splunk but that does not resolve the issue. Local accounts work just fine
Hello @magicbytes,
have you checked that your domain account have all required rights as listed in the documentation?: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.0.3/Installation/ChoosetheuserSplunkshouldrunas
