Will Splunk run (using Red Hat Linux) on the IBM Power 8 server?

The new IBM POWER 8 LC models performance are promising. I'm interested to run data driven LINUX apps on POWER 8. Is this doable?

In a word, yes. Linux on ppc64 / ppc64le are officially supported targets for the Splunk UF. You can find these downloads for Splunk 6.5.0 on the current UF downloads page. You will need to know if your copy of Linux on Power is running in LE mode (little endian) or not, and pick the right binary to install.

You want to deploy splunk or you want to install universal forwarder (and send app logs to a splunk instance).
both splunk and UF can be installed on redhat ( I hope on IBM power 8server as well)
