Why are we unable to open one of the search heads in Internet Explorer on Windows 10?

Hi,

We have two search heads in our environment. We have issues opening one of the search heads in internet explorer on windows 10 machine.

When we open the search head which is working fine we see that the document mode is 11(default).
For the search head having issues, the document mode is 8 (default) and therefore we get a message that the browser is not supported.

How to force the splunk search head having issues to always use 11(default)?

Both search heads are running the same version of Splunk.

The issue is resolved now. A group policy setting was causing this. Someone had added the search head URL in enterprise mode IE list causing it to open in IE compatibility mode. Removing the URL from the ESML fixed the issue.

The search head having issues has the document mode 8 (default). The compatibility mode is off. We have one more such head which opens with document mode 11(default) on the same machine

Need help to open the troublesome search head with document mode 11(default)

Do you have both search heads on same servers?

You can find document mode under settings "F12 Developer Tools".
You need to make sure any compatibility mode is off , ie 9 and higher will work.
