What happens to Splunk if the NFS mount attached to the search pool goes down (NAS scheduled maintenance)? Would Splunk go down completely or some functionalities go unavailable?

I believe this actually happened to my Splunk environment years ago. Splunk completely hangs. No response in the UI and no response on CLI.
